West Ham finally earned their first win under David Moyes on Saturday afternoon.
Former West Ham winger Matthew Etherington has warned his old side on Twitter not to get carried away after surprising all by beating Chelsea on Saturday.
The Hammers earned a 1-0 win at the London Stadium thanks to a Marko Arnautovic goal and a superb defensive rearguard that saw the likes of Adrian, Mark Noble and Angelo Ogbonna shine.
It sees manager David Moyes earn his first victory since taking over the east Londoners as Slaven Bilic’s replacement, securing just one point from a possible 12 and losing to Watford, Man City and Everton.
The crucial three points sees the Hammers on the brink of exiting the relegation zone as they host Arsenal on Wednesday night, but Etherington urged for focus as there are “five or six massive games” ahead of Moyes’ side.
Before Christmas, the Hammers face Arsenal on Wednesday night before a difficult trip to Stoke’s Britannia Stadium on Saturday. They face the Gunners again in the last eight of the Carabao Cup on December 19.
Then, Moyes has three matches that could prove crucial to the bottom of the table – Newcastle, Bournemouth and West Brom between December 23 and January 2.
Currently in 19th place with 13 points from 16 matches, Moyes will be desperate for another inch-perfect defensive display to keep out Arsene Wenger’s men.
