West Ham United were beaten 3-2 by Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane yesterday.
Matthew Etherington says that he did not like Slaven Bilic’s substitutes during West Ham United’s match against Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.
Bilic has been criticised by some West Ham fans for making the wrong changes, as his side looked to hold on to a 2-1 lead at White Hart Lane.
The Croatian manager decided to bring on both Simone Zaza and Havard Nordtveit late on in the contest, and West Ham collapsed with the pair on the field.
The Hammers had looked to be on their way to three points when Manuel Lanzini put them into a 2-1 lead.
However, Harry Kane scored twice in the final minutes to ensure that Tottenham turned things around in the London derby.
To make matters worse for Bilic, Kane’s winner came as a direct result of an error from Nortdveit.
The summer signing dived into a tackle on Heung-Min Son and gave away a penalty, which Kane duly converted.
And Etherington felt that Bilic’s decisions had been wrong, even though West Ham’s performance showed some promise.
West Ham are now just one point above the relegation zone, with their poor start to the season becoming increasingly worrying.
