Paul Merson has predicted on SportsKeeda that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will win 2-0 against Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United at Anfield in the Premier League this week.
Liverpool will take on Newcastle at home in the league on Wednesday evening.
Former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit Merson believes that the Reds will pick up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 2-0 win.

Merson wrote on SportsKeeda: “Newcastle United have started the season well and scored a stunning last-minute winner through Allan Saint-Maximin to salvage a point against Wolves last weekend.
“Liverpool, on the other hand, finally clicked after a run of three winless games as they absolutely raced off the blocks to demolish Bournemouth 9-0.
“It was only a matter of time before Liverpool returned to their best and I expect them to build on it with another win.
“Eddie Howe is a good tactician and his teams usually don’t get blown away, so I’m going for a tight 2-0 win for Liverpool.”
Tough game to call
In our opinion, Liverpool will not find it easy to win against Newcastle United at Anfield in the Premier League this week.
Yes, the Merseyside club hammered Bournemouth this past weekend, but Newcastle have done well so far this season and have a good bunch of players.
Now, of course, playing at Anfield will give Liverpool a huge advantage, but Newcastle have players such as Allan Saint-Maximin who can change the outcome of a game in the blink of an eye.
Newcastle will know that they cannot afford to concede an early goal, so if they keep it tight at the back for the first half, then things could get very edgy for Liverpool in the second period.
