The Manchester United star would undoubtedly strengthen West Ham United.

The Hammers have endured a bitterly disappointing campaign this term, but they look like they have done enough to secure their Premier League status for another season at least, which means Slaven Bilic can start planning for the start of next season.
The Croatian will undoubtedly have to strengthen his squad during the off-season, and improve his options after what was a totally underwhelming player recruitment drive during the summer of 2016.
One area that requires particular attention is West Ham’s defence, and an ideal target for the East London outfit could be Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian.
The Italian refused to rule out an exit from Old Trafford this summer, when speaking to Tutto Mercato Web, and the 27-year-old’s versatility could prove to be invaluable to the Hammers’ hopes of finishing inside the top seven next season.
The 28-capped Italy international can play anywhere across the back-line, and with West Ham’s problems at both left-back and right-back, the United defender would seemingly be just the ticket.
Darmian made the move to Old Trafford from Torino in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be in the region of £12.7 million, but has never really lived up to what was expected of him, although he has never really been given a consistent run in the first-team.

And with the opportunity of regular action, the Italian could showcase his true worth.
Sam Byram has proven that he is not quite ready for the intense nature of the Premier League, whilst Alvaro Arbeloa’s contract will surely not be extended in the summer.
And the United defender would undoubtedly be an upgrade on both of those players.
Darmian’s contract with United doesn’t expire until the summer of 2019, so he will not come cheap, but Bilic should seriously consider bringing him to the London Stadium, as he looks to strengthen one of the weakest areas of his squad.
