Queens Park Rangers will face Thomas Christiansen’s Leeds United in the Championship this weekend.
Queens Park Rangers are not having a great season and are only six points above the Championship relegation zone at the moment, but one player who cannot be blamed for their current situation is Matt Smith.
The former Leeds United striker has made only three starts and 13 substitute appearances in the Championship so far this season, and has scored five goals and provided two assists.
The 28-year-old is playing well at the moment, and it would make sense for manager Ian Holloway to include the Englishman in the starting lineup against his former club Leeds at Loftus Road in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Conor Washington started against Preston North End last weekend, as well as against Brentford in the league last month.
The 25-year-old, who can operate as a striker or as a winger, has scored only four goals in 19 league appearances for Rangers so far this season, 13 of which have been starts.
QPR fans do not think that Washington will be able to compete with Leeds central defender Pontus Jansson, as the following posts on social networking site Twitter show, and Holloway should start Smith, who cost the London club £500,000 in transfer fees when they signed him from Fulham in January 2017 accoridng to The London Evening Standard.
