Queens Park Rangers striker Matt Smith has stared his admiration of Leeds United star Chris Wood on the club’s official website.

Wood has been in superb form for Leeds so far this season and is banging in the goals left, right and centre.

The 25-year-old former Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion man has scored 22 goals and created 27 chances in 33 Championship appearances for the Whites so far this campaign.

The performances of the New Zealand international have seen Leeds establish themselves as genuine contenders for the Championship playoffs.

QPR striker Smith, who played for Leeds during the 2013-14 season before moving to London club Fulham, has shared his admiration of Wood.

The 27-year-old former Oldham Athletic striker has also made the observation that the West Yorkshire outfit are now stable.

“They’ve had a great season so far under Monk,” Smith told QPR’s official website. “It looks like there’s a bit of stability at Elland Road now and that’s what they needed.

“They’re a very strong team and in (Chris) Wood, they’ve got a striker who seems to be scoring week in, week out, which is very important at this level.”

QPR will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Leeds United away from home at Elland Road in the Championship.

The Whites will head into the match as favourites, but Rangers could earn a point from the encounter.
