Glasgow Rangers brought Matt Polster to Ibrox during the January transfer window.

With Rangers eight points clear of third place Aberdeen heading into the final four games of the campaign, Steven Gerrard may be able to switch some of his attention towards the summer and next season.
It is important that the Gers end the year on a high, but Gerrard can take a few risks with some of his team selections in the remaining weeks, especially as they may help him with his plans when it all begins again at the end of the summer.
And one of those risks should perhaps involve Matt Polster, who made his Rangers debut last time out against Hearts. The American came off the bench for the final three minutes at Tynecastle having spent much of his spell so far with the reserves.
Polster was an intriguing signing in January, with the 25-year-old hardly a household name outside of Major League Soccer before he arrived at Ibrox.

His versatility suggests that he will be a very useful signing, particularly as he arrived on a free transfer. But Gerrard appears to be taking a cautious approach with him as he looks to adapt to his new surroundings.
However, now may be the perfect time to hand Polster his full debut, with some of the pressure being removed as Rangers look to be in a good position to seal second spot.
Handing him his first start for the club could help Polster adapt ahead of next season when he will be under greater pressure to make an impact and vindicate Gerrard’s almost surprising decision to bring him to the club.
