Rangers snapped up Matt Polster in the January transfer window.

Rangers ace Matt Polster has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he looked up to manager Steven Gerrard when he was a teenager.
The Gers were busy in January, snapping up Jermain Defoe, Steven Davis, Glen Kamara and Andy Firth, as well as securing a pre-contract agreement with Kilmarnock winger Jordan Jones.
One of their final deals came late in the window, and Rangers snapped up Polster on a free transfer from Chicago Fire following a successful trial spell.
Polster joined Rangers on trial in December before heading out to the club’s training camp in Tenerife in January, and then landed a two-and-a-half year deal.
The American, 25, made more than 90 appearances for Chicago Fire, emerging as a utility man at right back or central midfield whilst picking up a United States international cap too.
Despite joining Rangers nearly two months ago, Polster is yet to make his Gers debut as he gets up to full speed, and he has now been discussing his thoughts on boss Gerrard.
Polster has admitted that he loved Gerrard long before he made the move to Ibrox, looking up to him as a teenager having visited Anfield as a teenager.

Polster noted that he ‘fell in love’ with Liverpool and Gerrard was his favourite player, but he doesn’t just want to train under him, he wants to play regularly for him at Rangers.
“I really looked up to the manager when I was growing up,” said Polster. “I came over to England as a 14 or 15 year old with my youth club in Las Vegas. We visited Anfield and Manchester – but I fell in love with Liverpool. We didn’t get to see a match while we were over unfortunately but from there I started watching a lot of their games once I got back home and Steven was the one who caught my eye the most.
“So it’s nice to be playing under him now. But I want to play, I don’t just want to be training under him. I want to play for him, so the main goal is to get on the pitch,” he added.
