New Rangers signing Matt Polster is adjusting to life at Ibrox.
New Rangers signing Matt Polster played 90 minutes for the under-23s yesterday as he begins his tenure at Ibrox.
Polster was a January addition from Chicago Fire and hopes to force his way into Steven Gerrard’s plans.
In addition to the culture change on and off the pitch, Polster is very aware that at Rangers he will be under far more pressure than he and his teammates were in MLS.
Polster told American Soccer Now that he is prepared for criticism which may come his way.
Polster said that the environment at Rangers is going to be totally different to what he is used to.
He said: “In Chicago you could kind of get away with certain things. I am not trying to speak bad but there was a stretch where we lost so many games in a row and it wasn’t really in any paper or any article.
“We weren’t even getting criticised. Here, you can’t even lose one game in a row.
“The expectations are very high. It’s definitely something I’ve always to be part of.”
Polster is very much a curiosity right now and every step he takes in his Rangers career will be analysed, by pundits and supporters.
He sounds like he is ready for it, but the real test will be when he drops a clanger, and how he responds to it.
