Queens Park Rangers winger Matt Phillips has been linked with a move to Southampton in recent times.
Matt Phillips has told the London Evening Standard that he is only concentrating on Queens Park Rangers, despite reports linking him with a move to Southampton.
The Standard have said that Phillips was attracting the attention of the Saints, but the winger is determined not to get distracted by the mounting clamour for his signature.
Phillips says that he still has a lot to prove with QPR and he is not thinking about moving on at this moment in time.
“I am fully focused on staying at QPR,” he said. “I can’t read too much into talk of a transfer. I have a lot to still prove here. It’s been stop-start for me here but the fans have stayed with me. The manager has shown faith in me, I have a lot to prove and will keep playing for the shirt.”

Phillips’ words should encourage QPR fans, but there is a realisation that the skilful attacker could move on should they be relegated from the Premier League this season.
Phillips has displayed his class over recent months, and his performances have shown that he can be a weapon in the top-flight.
As a result, it is hardly surprising that the 24-year-old is being linked with other teams and the R’s will struggle to keep him if they do go down.
Phillips, though, still appears determined to keep Chris Ramsey’s side in the Premier League and that can only be a good thing for the London outfit.
The former Blackpool man is one of their most dangerous attacking players and if they are to escape the drop, then he will be crucial to their cause.
