The Mirror claimed of Tottenham’s interest in signing Wilson from Premier League rivals Bournemouth in the January transfer window.
The 27-year-old striker has been playing well for the Cherries this season, and Spurs could well make a move for him in the summer of 2019.
According to WhoScored, the England international has made 28 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Bournemouth this season, scoring 14 goals and providing nine assists in the process.
Tottenham did not sign any player in the summer of 2018 or in the January transfer window, but the North London outfit could be busy in the summer of 2019.
The Sun has reported that Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino will be given a lot of money by club chairman Daniel Levy to spend in the summer transfer window, with reports suggesting that he would be given £100 million to spend.
Southampton legend Le Tissier has praised Wilson, but he has suggested that Spurs should aim for someone better than him.
When asked if Tottenham should look at Wilson as possible summer signing, Le Tissier said on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News on Saturday afternoon (12:19pm, May 4, 2019): “He would be the type of player that Spurs would be looking at. It’s respectable (goals record of one in fewer than three matches), but is it top drawer?
“If they have got £100m to spend and they might want to spend £50m of it on a striker, wouldn’t you want somebody who is a one-in-two merchant? Don’t get me wrong, I think he is a very, very player and good finisher, and I think he would be a good squad player at Spurs, but where’s he going to play?”
