Matt Le Tissier thinks reported target likely to join Tottenham Hotspur, not Everton

Matt Le Tissier suggested on Sky Sports News (1:52pm, July 18, 2020) that Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is more likely to join Tottenham Hotspur than Everton.

The Southampton legend believes that Kyle Walker-Peters being on loan at the Saints from Spurs gives the North London outfit an edge over the Toffees.

The right-back joined the Saints on loan from Spurs in the January transfer window and is scheduled to return to his parent club at the end of the season.

According to The Southern Daily Echo, both Spurs and Everton are interested signing Hojbjerg from Premier League rivals Southampton in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that the Saints want £35 million as transfer fee for the Denmark international, who prefers Spurs to the Toffees.

Le Tissier said on Sky Sports News (1:52pm, July 18, 2020) regarding Hojbjerg, Tottenham and Everton, as transcribed by HampshireLive: “I think Spurs have been mentioned as well as somebody who might want to take him, and that might be something that’s probably maybe more likely to happen given that we’ve got one of Spurs’ players on loan who I think will possibly end up at Southampton on a permanent basis.

“I think it’s between those two teams. I think £25million is a good deal for Southampton, if I’m honest.”
