Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier suggested on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News HQ on Saturday afternoon (broadcast from 12pm, August 13, 2016) that he was impressed with the performance of Victor Wanyama for Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.
Wanyama made his Premier League debut for Tottenham against Everton away from home at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.
The 25-year-old defensive midfielder started the game and played for the entire 90 minutes.
Former Southampton star Le Tissier was following the game, and he suggested that Wanyama did well against Everton.

“He did well. Victor Wanyama does what he does. He sits in front of the back four, he breaks up the play, and he gives the ball simply. And when he does that, he looks like a fantastic player.”

Wanyama joined Tottenham from Premier League rivals Southampton in the summer transfer window.
According to The London Evening Standard, Spurs had to pay the Saints a transfer fee of £11 million in order to secure the services of the Kenya international this summer.
Spurs failed to kick off their 2016-17 Premier League campaign with a win, as they played out a 1-1 draw with Everton.
Tottenham will return to action next weekend when they take on Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane in the league.
