Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez has joined West Bromwich Albion.
Southampton today confirmed that attacker Jay Rodriguez has been sold to West Bromwich Albion – and Saints legend Matt Le Tissier has reacted on Twitter.
Rodriguez, 27, joined Southampton from hometown club Burnley back in the summer of 2012 following the Saints’ promotion to the Premier League, and he enjoyed a decent first season with nine goals to his name.

The 2013-14 season saw Rodriguez star with 17 goals in 39, but a brutal knee injury sustained in April 2014 not only saw Rodriguez miss out on a place in the England World Cup squad, but also changed his career.
Rodriguez has only managed 50 games since that injury over three years ago, scoring nine goals – and he has now moved on from Southampton in search of first-team football having started just nine league games last season.
West Brom have snapped up Rodriguez to boost their squad, with BBC Sport claiming that Tony Pulis’ men have forked out around £12million to sign the versatile forward, who can play out wide or up front.
Salomon Rondon endured a five-month goalless streak last season, and with little support around him, Pulis has decided to land Rodriguez in a bid to bring more goals to his Baggies side.

After such a huge battle with injuries, Rodriguez has left with the best wishes of many Southampton fans, and club legend Matt Le Tissier has also offered his words of support.
Le Tissier took to Twitter to wish Rodriguez luck, and to thank him for all his service to Southampton in his five years with the club, even if he missed a considerable chunk of time with that knee injury.
