The Liverpool player scored in England’s 3-0 win over Scotland on Friday.

Sky Sports pundit Matt Le Tissier has claimed that Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana is England’s best player on current form.

The midfielder has been in fine form at the beginning of this campaign, playing a key role in helping Liverpool to the top of the Premier League table.

He was at his best again on Friday evening as he put in an impressive display for the Three Lions, grabbing their second goal in the 3-0 win over Scotland.

His performance earned rave reviews and Le Tissier was one of those impressed by what he saw, saying the former Southampton man is the star of this current team.

“I ask myself who England’s best player is and on current form I’d probably say Adam Lallana,” Le Tissier told Sky Sports.

“He tends to be pushed out wide though and I’d like to see him in the number 10 role. He’s happy to go both ways so playing him central gives him so many options.”

There is certainly no denying that Lallana has been very impressive so far this season.

Stats show on a per game basis he is now posting more accurate passes, more successful final third passes and more key passes than he was at the same stage last season.

That is an impressive improvement by anyone’s reckoning and it has certainly caught the eye. Liverpool and England will be hoping there is more to come in the near future.
