The Tottenham Hotspur man has endured a difficult campaign this season.

Matt Le Tissier suggested that Kieran Trippier has been Tottenham’s weakest link this season, when speaking exclusively to Sky Sports.

The 28-year-old has really struggled for Spurs after impressing for England at last year’s World Cup in Russia, and because of his poor form, he has been heavily linked with an exit, with the Sun claiming that both Napoli and Atletico Madrid are interested in signing the right-back.

In fairness to Trippier, he always gives 100 per cent, but he quite simply hasn’t been at it for Tottenham this season, neither defensively nor in an attacking sense.

Serge Aurier has struggled with injuries, so the England international has been used far more than he probably otherwise would have, had the Ivorian been available for selection.

And Le Tissier told Sky Sports how Trippier has been Tottenham’s worst player this season:

“Trippier has been the weakest link in Tottenham’s defence. Liverpool should be just a little bit stronger in each department and there is not any great logic that tells you Tottenham should win this game.”

In spite of his poor form, Tripper will most likely start for Tottenham in the Champions League final on Saturday, and Liverpool will surely be targeting the 28-year-old as they look to lift their sixth European Cup.
