Everton and Liverpool are due to meet in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park this evening.
Matt Le Tissier has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 19th December, that he believes Liverpool will beat Everton in the Merseyside derby this evening.
The Reds head into the game in fine form, and they will be under pressure to close the gap on Chelsea at the top of the table.
Liverpool have been tipped as potential title contenders this term, but Chelsea are threatening to run away from Jurgen Klopp’s side, after winning their last 11 matches in succession.

However, Klopp’s men could close the gap on the top of the table London side to six points, if they can beat Everton this evening.
For Liverpool to get the win, they are likely to have to be at their very best, as the atmosphere at Goodison Park promises to be electric.

But Le Tissier worries that Everton’s efforts to turn their last match around against Arsenal, may leave them fatigued.
“You’d expect Liverpool to be able to deal with Everton,” Le Tissier said. “They’re a very good team and I fancy them to get a result at Everton, who put a lot of energy into the match against Arsenal last week.”
If Everton can get a win against Liverpool this evening, they will move up to seventh place in the Premier League table.
