Matt Le Tissier said on Sky Sports News (2:48pm, July 18, 2020) that Leeds United will be able to attract quality players in the summer transfer window.

The Southampton legend believes that the size of Leeds will be attractive to potential targets.

The Whites will play in the Premier League next season after clinching automatic promotion from the Championship.

This is the first time that Leeds will play in the top flight of English football since 2004.

Meanwhile, former Crystal Palace forward Clinton Morrison praised Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips for his performances this season.

Le Tissier said on Sky Sports News (2:48pm, July 18, 2020): “I certainly think that the size of the club would make it easier to attract players there.”

Morrison said about Phillips on Sky Sports News (2:47pm, July 18, 2020): “I like the boy Phillips in midfield. He is one of their own. He has come through the academy. He has been excellent for them in midfield.”

Signing quality players

Although it is unlikely that Leeds will be splashing the cash in the summer transfer window, the Whites will surely be making a few signings to make the squad stronger and more competitive.

Leeds are one of the biggest clubs in England and have a superb manager in Marcelo Bielsa, and players will be interested in moving to Elland Road.

One player who has been linked with Leeds this summer is Emiliano Buendia, with Read Norwich reporting last month that the Whites have made an enquiry about signing the 23-year-old attacking midfielder from Norwich City, who have already been relegated to the Championship.

Former Norwich defender Russell Martin believes that it would be a big blow for the Canaries if they lose Buendia this summer.

Marton said about Buendia on Sky Sports Premier League (5:18pm, July 18, 2020): “Every Norwich fan’s biggest fear is losing him this summer. He has been an outstanding signing. £1.5 million from Getafe.

“Last season he was their best player in the Championship. 17 assists (in all competitions), I think last season, and eight goals in the Championship. That’s incredible stats.

“This year seven assists in a struggling team that finished bottom of the league, that takes some doing. The amount of chances he creates…”
