The Tottenham Hotspur striker has been sensational this season, but he is not immune from criticism.
Sky Sports pundit Matt Le Tissier was a guest on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily programme, and pinpointed a particular area of Harry Kane’s game that he does not particularly like.
The Spurs hitman has been in sensational form so far this season, scoring 33 goals in 34 games in all competitions, and he has now firmly established himself as one of the continent’s most feared front-men.
Despite all of the plaudits that the England international has received this season, it is clear that he is not immune from criticism.
Matt Le Tissier was a guest on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily programme, and warned Kane that he needs to cut diving out of his game:
“There is one little point that needs to be mentioned: We give foreign players a lot of stick for diving and I saw one little thing in last night’s game that I didn’t particularly like, that was when Harry Kane dived to try and win a penalty. He needs to cut that out of his game and that is something that needs to be said. He and Dele Alli have got to be very careful with the way they throw themselves to the ground.”
Diving has become an epidemic in the English game, and some even argue that it is an art form that requires a certain level of skill to execute in the correct manner.
Kane is arguably Europe’s best out-and-out striker, and he certainly doesn’t need to gain a reputation for diving.
Following Le Tissier’s comments, it will be interesting to see how the England international performs over the next few weeks.
