Southampton legend enjoys Liverpool defender’s costly error.

£75 million man Virgil Van Dijk had a dream debut for Liverpool in the Merseyside derby earlier this month.
The follow up was not so straightforward.
Van Dijk was back in the starting line up last night for Liverpool as they took on Swansea City… and slipped to a shock defeat.

The Dutchman was partly culpable for the goal, failing to head a set piece clear, with the ball falling for Alfie Mawson to score the winner.
The centre-back’s error was viewed joyfully by Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier, who had plenty of back and forth over the past year with Liverpool fans over the defender’s on-off move.
Swansea went on to win the game 1-0, and Liverpool lost key ground in their bid to secure a top four place.
Unfortunately for Le Tissier, the joke could be on him and Southampton.
Swansea’s victory closed the gap at the bottom of the table and brought Carlos Carvalhal’s bottom placed team within just two points of the relegation threatened Saints.
