Tottenham Hotspur finally got their first Premier League win at Wembley, with Christian Eriksen scoring to see off Bournemouth.

Despite some irresistible form heading into the international break, Spurs were still facing questions regarding whether they were the victims of a Wembley hoodoo, having failed to win a top flight game at the ground and with their overall form at the stadium leaving a lot to be desired.

However, they were able to finally take three points from a home game in the league as they beat the Cherries 1-0 thanks to an Eriksen goal early in the second-half. And after the game, Le Tissier suggested that it was fitting that the Dane was the man to separate the two teams.

“Harry Kane didn’t have his shooting boots on today. He could have had two or three goals on a different day. I think Spurs on the balance of play and chances, deserved to win the game, and for me, it was only right that Christian Eriksen got the winner today because I thought he was outstanding.”
With Harry Kane – rightfully to an extent – stealing many of the headlines lately, Eriksen perhaps has not got the credit he deserves from many given his form this season.
The playmaker has been terrific and his tally of three top flight goals means that he is Kane’s closest rival in the club’s scoring charts.
And that form should undoubtedly help Tottenham going into their next game, where they will travel to the Bernabeu to face Real Madrid in the Champions League group-stages looking to pull off what would be one of the most famous results in the club’s recent history.
