It looks as though Southampton might be on the verge of breaking their transfer record this week. The club are believed to have agreed a fee with Lille for attacking midfielder Sofiane Boufal of around £21 million for his services, according to Sky Sports.
That fee will eclipse the £15 million they paid to bring flop striker Dani Osvaldo to the club from AS Roma in 2013.

The deal would make Southampton the 10th team in the Premier League this season to break their transfer record and be a massive signal of intent for the rest of the league about their intentions.
It is a deal that certainly has Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier excited.

The former Saints player, dubbed ‘Le God’ by the club’s fans, took to Twitter this morning to post his excitement at the potential deal:
Boufal is certainly the sort of technical maverick that Le Tissier will no doubt appreciate at St Mary’s Stadium.
The move for the Moroccan international will no doubt hinge on a medical examination, as the player suffered a knee injury earlier this year, but Saints fans will hope it gets done today.
