Tottenham Hotspur are currently without Toby Alderweireld and Victor Wanyama.

Matt Le Tissier answers questions during Gillette Soccer Saturday Live with Jeff Stelling on March 19, 2012 at the Bournemouth International Centre in Bournemouth, England.

Matt Le Tissier has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 4th December, that he believes Tottenham Hotspur’s form is worrying.

Spurs have failed to win any of their last four Premier League matches, and currently sit in sixth place in the table.

And Le Tissier feels that Spurs’ struggles are as a result of the absences of Toby Alderweireld and Victor Wanyama through injury.

The Southampton legend said: “It’s a bit worrying for Spurs. I think what’s being proved here is just how good Alderweireld is and how they struggle when he’s not in the team and just how big a job Victor Wanyama did. Those two missing has been a huge blow.”

Alderweireld is set to be on the sidelines for a considerable time yet, while Wanyama may miss the entire season.

Tottenham will have to prove that they can cope without the pair, if they are to maintain their push for a top four spot.

Tottenham have comfortably finished in the Champions League qualification spots in the last two seasons, but they are on the back-foot now.

Spurs are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table, and are already playing catch up with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Tottenham’s next Premier League match comes against Stoke City at Wembley on Saturday.
