Matt Le Tissier responded to comments from Craig Bellamy who suggested Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers would struggle to get another top job in the Premier League.

Matt Le Tissier has told Premier League Daily on Sky Sports (broadcast on 28th September 2017 from 10:00 am) that he disagrees with recent comments made by Craig Bellamy regarding Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers’ chances of landing another top job in the Premier League.

But Le Tissier suggested that Rodgers’ managerial record should put him in a good position to get a top job in England should he look for one at some stage in the future.

“He’s taken a team [Liverpool] to second place, within a whisker of winning the Premier League so I think that will go a long way when clubs in the Premier League are looking for managers. I’d have to disagree slightly with that.”
Rodgers has done a fantastic job during his time at Parkhead. Celtic remain unbeaten in domestic games since he arrived in 2016, winning the treble last season, while he has also guided the Hoops to the Champions League group-stages two years in a row.
And perhaps Bellamy may feel slightly differently about Rodgers’ chances now, as the comments were made before their fantastic victory over Anderlecht on Wednesday which put the Bhoys in a fantastic position to secure third spot in their group at the very least.
And with that group consisting of Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich also, Bellamy’s opinion will surely change dramatically if Celtic manage to pull off a couple of shocks and take one of the qualification spots.
