West Ham United’s summer signings have looked poor so far.
Sky Sports Soccer Saturday pundit Matt Le Tissier has claimed that West Ham’s stadium trouble means the person in charge of recruitment is getting away with murder.
The Hammers were extremely busy in the summer transfer window as they brought in no fewer than 10new players.
It is fair to say that their signings have not proven to be wise so far with all of their captures struggling to find their best form at the beginning of the campaign.
And Le Tissier has told Sky Sports that their stadium issues are taking attention away from the issue at this moment in time.
“I think because of the move to the new stadium, whoever was responsible for bringing in new players is getting away with murder at the moment,” he said.
“You can understand if a couple of them might have struggled to settle but you look down the list and how many have made an impact? I wouldn’t say any, so there is an issue.”
It remains to be seen if West Ham’s summer signings can pick up their form in the coming months. They certainly need to do so, with their performances so far having been far from the standard required.
After eight games, the Hammers are currently sitting in 15th place in the table and are just a point outside of the relegation zone.
That is far from where they expected to be and if performances do not improve soon, more criticism is likely to be directed at those in charge of transfers this summer.
