Matt Le Tissier has told Sky Sports that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli was poor in the first half against Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.

The Southampton legend was not impressed with the performance produced by Alli in the first 45 minutes of the Premier League game against Stoke at the Wembley Stadium in London.

“Dele Alli was so far off the paces, touch was all over the place, he was pretty poor in that first half,” Le Tissier told Sky Sports.

As Le Tissier noted, Alli did not play well in the first half, but the England international midfielder did step up his game in the second 45 minutes.

The 21-year-old played the ball through for Son Heung-min’s second goal and worked hard, but his overall performance left much to be desired.

The fact that Alli was replaced by Erik Lamela on 67 minutes underlines that the former Milton Keynes Dons youngster was not at his best against Stoke.

The 5-1 win against Stoke at Wembley means that Tottenham are back on track for a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.
