Tottenham Hotspur failed to beat West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Saturday.

Tottenham have enjoyed a wonderful run in Europe this season, emerging from this season’s group of death as the winners with a game to spare, having beaten Borussia Dortmund twice and having taken four points from their two games with Real Madrid.

Unfortunately, their league form has not been quite as spectacular and they went into their clash with the Baggies 11 points adrift of current Premier League leaders Manchester City. And they were unable to close the gap down to single figures as a late Harry Kane goal saw them secure a 1-1 draw.
But when asked whether now is the time for Tottenham to switch their focus and prioritise the Champions League, Le Tissier suggested that that decision should have been made before the game.

“To be honest, I think it was before this result,” he told Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports (broadcast on 25th November 2017 from 12:00 pm) when asked whether now is the time to change priorities following the draw.
“To try and claw 11 points against a team of Man City’s standard, that’s a huge ask and I would say, yeah they’re playing for a top four place and they need to focus more on the Champions League.”
A win at Huddersfield on Sunday would see City move 13 points clear of Tottenham in the table, and given that they have dropped points on just one occasion all season, it is difficult to imagine Pep Guardiola’s men dropping the number of points required to bring Spurs back into the race.
But with one Champions League group game left before the competition halts until February, there is surely no excuse for Tottenham to not give the Premier League their full focus during the coming months, leaving themselves ready to move into contention if City end up having a disastrous run during the festive period.
