Tottenham Hotspur lost their first Premier League game since August when they travelled to face Manchester United last weekend.

Kane missed both of Spurs’ games last week after being taken off during their emphatic win over Liverpool at Wembley, and it appeared that Mauricio Pochettino’s side missed him.

Kane has scored 17 goals in 17 games for club and country this season, and without him, they lost 3-2 to West Ham and then 1-0 away at Old Trafford before he returned for the Champions League win over Real Madrid in midweek.
And Le Tissier has suggested that their performance against United hinted that they were resigned to the fact that they would be unable to win without their talisman.

“It’s understandable given how important Harry Kane is but if you are going to be a top team, you’ve still got to learn to go and win at top places without your top players.”
The last three results would have certainly done little to help Tottenham prove to their critics that they are not a one-man team, even if they managed to score twice without him against the Hammers and he scored none of their three goals against Madrid.
But, while Pochettino could probably not care less what perception some people have of his side, he will undoubtedly be angered by the suggestion that his players had even slightly written themselves off before the clash with United simply because Kane was not available.
