The Swansea City midfielder spent the 2016-17 season on loan to Leeds United.

Matt Grimes’ career looks to be finally back on track after the Leeds United spell the Swansea City midfielder says gave him ‘a knocking’.
Signed by Garry Monk, the then Leeds manager, from previous club Swansea, Grimes’ season-long loan spell yielded just 12 appearances and five starts.
As a result, the former England Under-21 international found himself playing League One football for Northampton Town last term.
But the appointment of a new manager in Graham Potter offered Grimes a fresh start upon his return to Swansea this summer.

And after appearing regularly as a substitute, occupying a variety of roles, in the early part of this season – Leeds, ironically, the only team against which he has failed to feature so far – Grimes has recently cemented a place in the Welsh side’s central midfield.
According to the Sun, the former Exeter City player’s displays look set to spark contract talks between the player and Swansea, who are expected to compete with Leeds for promotion this season.
Still only 23 – he was barely into his twenties at the time of his move to Elland Road – Grimes has plenty of time yet to eradicate the memory of that difficult Whites spell.
