The midfielder has joined the Championship club until the end of the season.

Matt Grimes has outlined to Leeds United’s official website what his target is following his loan move to Elland Road, and has explained how he feels about the prospect of working alongside Garry Monk and Pep Clotet once again.
The 20-year-old has joined the Whites from Swansea City on a season-long loan deal. And the move to the Championship club sees Grimes link up with the manager who brought him to the Liberty Stadium in January 2015.

And after describing what his personal ambition for the loan spell is, he discussed how excited he is about working with a familiar management team.
“This was a no-brainer for me – it’s such a big club and we’re looking to have a really strong season,” he told the club’s official website.
“I’m really excited to come here and play football – that’s the aim for me this season. Coming here gives me a really good chance to do that at a high level.
“Garry Monk and Pep Clotet were really good to me when I was at Swansea. They helped me a lot and nurtured me when I was a young player coming through, so it will be great to work with them again.”

After a promising loan spell at Blackburn last season, Grimes arrives at Leeds with some experience of the division he is joining under his belt.
But his chances of succeeding in Yorkshire will surely be boosted by working under a manager who will know his game very well, so should have a very good idea of what it will take to get the best out of him.

And after making just four Premier League appearances for the Swans – three of which came during Monk’s time in charge – he will be motivated to do well for his new side so that he stakes a claim to earn more opportunities for his parent club upon his return.
However, Monk may be hoping that if Grimes makes a positive impact for the Peacocks, and the Premier League side still cannot offer the amount of game-time he craves, then he may feel that joining Leeds and working with Monk permanently is the best move for him.
