Matthew Etherington is a fan of the West Ham United player.

Mattew Etherington appears to have lobbied for James Collins to earn a new West Ham United deal, by responding to a tweet about the veteran defender on social media.
The 34-year-old made his first start of the season for West Ham on Wednesday as Slaven Bilic’s side beat Cheltenham 2-0 to reach the third round of the League Cup.
Diafra Sakho and Andre Ayew bagged the goals, but at the other end Collins was as solid as ever as the Irons earned a deserved clean sheet away to the lower league side.

The Wales centre-back, out of contract last summer, was a prominent fixture under Bilic toward the end of last season but it remains to be seen how big his role is this time around, with Angelo Ogbonna and Winston Reid fit again.
One Twitter user put it to Etherington that the big defender deserves a new deal, and the former West Ham winger appears to wholeheartedly agree.

Collins, who has 51 caps for Wales, joined the East Londoners in 2012 and has since made 121 Premier League appearances, but it remains to be seen how many more he will get.
