Wolverhampton Wanderers fans are expecting great things from their team this season.
Wolves ace Matt Doherty spoke exclusively to the Express & Star about his side’s decent start to life in the Premier League, and shared the message that Nuno Espirito Santo gives him and his teammates before every game.
The Black Country outfit have taken five points from their opening four Premier League outings, including a hard-fought point against Manchester City and a superb away win at West Ham.
During his time in charge at Molineux, Nuno has proven that he is one of the best up and coming managers in the game, and Wolves fans should consider themselves extremely fortunate that the Portuguese is at their club.
Doherty spoke to the Express & Star about the influence that Nuno has on the Wolves side, sharing the message that he gives the players before every game:
“We won the league last year, we obviously believe we’re good enough for this league and our performances are starting to show that now. It comes from Nuno, that confidence. We’ve not set a specific position where we want to finish, it’s just ‘win every game we go in to’ pretty much. It’s impossible but that’s the belief, he makes us feel we can win every game.”
Next up for Wolves is a home game against Burnley next weekend, and a win against Sean Dyche’s side could see them jump inside the top 10 of the table for the first time this season.
