Matt Doherty has stated that ‘without question’ Harry Kane is the best striker in the world after he became Tottenham Hotspur’s all-time leading goalscorer against Manchester City on Sunday in the Premier League.
The Atletico Madrid defender, who left Spurs on transfer deadline day after his contract was ripped up, lauded his now-former teammate on his Instagram story.
That early strike against the Premier League champions was goal number 267 in Spurs colours for the 29-year-old, surpassing Jimmy Greaves’ long-standing record.

Added to that, it was also goal number 200 in the Premier League alone for the England captain. He joins record-holder Alan Shearer and Manchester United great, Wayne Rooney on that list.
Nonetheless, when Kane broke the record, Doherty posted the following message on his IG story:
“Best striker in the world, without a question,” said Doherty.

KANE = GOALS
A natural goalscorer. A ruthless player. A relentless machine in the final third. And one of England and Tottenham’s finest.
From that free-kick goal at Villa Park during the very early stages of his career, that stunning curling effort in the north London derby, his four goals against Leicester City and now his record-breaking strike.
When Kane puts up his boots, he will go down as one of the greats, without a question.
