The 28-year-old Republic of Ireland international has spoken highly of Mourinho, and he seems to be enjoying working with the former Chelsea and Manchester United boss.
Doherty has said that Mourinho is even better than he expected him to be.
Doherty told The Guardian about Mourinho: “He has been even better than I expected. He has that relationship with players on a personal level where he has a great sense of humour, he can joke around with them. He cares a lot for his players.”

Doherty is at the top of his game and is in prime form, but there is always room for improvement in every player.
Mourinho is a brilliant manager, and the Republic of Ireland international right-back will get better and improve under the Portuguese.

Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Martin Keown has given his take on the current situation of Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli.
According to The Telegraph, Paris Saint-Germain want to sign the England international midfielder, who, according to BBC Sport, was left out of Tottenham’s matchday squads against Southampton and Lokomotiv Plovdiv, but he did start against Shkendija in the Europa League qualifier on Thursday.
Keown said about Alli on talkSPORT (11:39am, September 25, 2020): “They have not got enough good players and enough options to be getting rid of Dele Alli. I prefer to have him there as a player, and I am pretty certain Mourinho would.”
