Crooks has made just three competitive appearances for Glasgow Rangers.
Matt Crooks has suggested that it may be in everyone’s best interests if he left Rangers on loan during the January transfer window, the Sunday Post reports.
The 22-year-old has endured a frustrating spell since moving to Ibrox in the summer. The former Accrington Stanley man has made just three appearances in all competitions this season and has not played for the Gers since the defeat to Hearts at the end of November.

And perhaps sensing that little may change in the coming months, Crooks has claimed that a temporary exit may be the most beneficial option for him and Mark Warburton’s side.
“The plan would be to go away, play a lot of football and get back to being the player I was before coming to Rangers from Accrington in the summer,” he said, as reported by the Sunday Post.
“I want to be at a big club and if I’m doing well at Rangers, it’s the best scenario for all parties.

“But if you’re at a little club and you’re playing – you get more out of it than twiddling your thumbs at a big club like this.
“I can’t emphasise enough how honoured I feel to be here. But ultimately, I just want to play.”
Unless Warburton has plans in place to use Crooks more often during the remaining months of the campaign, it surely makes sense for the Light Blues to give him the opportunity to move elsewhere for a short spell.
As Crooks suggested, a loan move may give him another chance to prove to the Scottish Premiership side just why they wanted to sign him last year.
And as it may also boost Crooks’ belief that he does have the ability to make an impact at Ibrox ahead of the next season when Warburton may need a larger squad at his disposal should they have a potential European campaign to prepare for.
