Liverpool have been drawn against Bayern Munich in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Bayern Munich centre-back Mats Hummels has sent a Tweet to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after the German champions were drawn against the Reds in the last 16 of the Champions League.
Hummels, 30, joined Bayern in the summer of 2016 after eight years with Borussia Dortmund – where he was managed by the current Reds boss. Hummels joined Dortmund from Bayern, months before Klopp became his manager.
Together, both Klopp and Hummels enjoyed huge success at Dortmund, winning two Bundesliga titles, a DFB Pokal, two German SuperCups and getting to the final of the Champions League in 2012-13.
Now, Hummels will reunite with his former manager Klopp on February 12 when Liverpool play host to Bayern at Anfield in the first leg. The rock-solid centre-back posted a message to Klopp, saying “I see you”.
Question marks remain over whether Hummels will play against Liverpool, though. Indeed, Niko Kovac has preferred to combine Niklas Sule and Jerome Boateng this season – while Javi Martinez is also an option at the back.
Liverpool will be looking to match last season’s efforts in the competition or even go one better, after reaching the final before losing 3-1 to Real Madrid. The last time the two sides met was way back in 2001.
The Reds earned the UEFA SuperCup with a 3-2 win in Monaco thanks to goals from John Arne Riise, Emile Heskey and Michael Owen. They will be hoping for similar this time around.
