Denmark international Mathias Jorgensen is in talks to sign for Huddersfield from FC Copenhagen, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Premier League new boys Huddersfield have been busy in the transfer market in recent weeks and it looks like Jorgensen could be the latest new recruit at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Huddersfield have signed Aaron Mooy, striker Laurent Depoitre, goalkeeper Jonas Lossl, Tom Ince, USA international Danny Williams and re-signed Chelsea midfielder Kasey Palmer on loan in the last week and Jorgensen would make it seven new arrivals.
Terriers boss David Wagner has identified Jorgensen as someone who could bolster Huddersfield’s defensive options and aid them in their first season in the Premier League.

Jorgensen is entering the final year of his contract at FC Copenhagen and he has been linked with a move to England before with Hull City seeing a bid rejected for his services in the January transfer window.
Jorgensen, who is in his second spell at FC Copenhagen, is highly-regarded at the club with the 26-year-old establishing himself as a key member of the side since returning to the club from PSV Eindhoven in 2014.
The powerful centre-back boasts a wealth of experience of playing in the Champions League and he impressed against Leicester City in last season’s group stages.
Jorgensen is understood to be in Huddersfield for talks and a medical and the move could be completed in the next 24-48 hours as Huddersfield continue their plans for next season.
