Wolverhampton Wanderers attacking midfielder Matheus Nunes has praised Manchester United and Portugal international star Bruno Fernandes on Instagram for his performance for Portugal against Uruguay at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Manchester United attacking midfielder Fernandes scored both the goals, as Portugal beat Uruguay 2-0 in their second Group H match on Monday evening.

The £47 million (BBC Sport) playmaker found the target first in the 54th minute with a floated cross that found it ways into the back of the Uruguay net.

The 28-year-old secured the points for the European nation in the third minute of injury time from the penalty spot.

Fernandes played well for Portugal in their opening group game against Ghana as well.

The former Sporting Lisbon star gave two assists, as Fernando Santo’s side won 3-2.

Two wins out of two means that Portugal have now qualified for the last-16 stage of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

And Fernandes has been arguably Portugal’s best player in the tournament so far.
