Leeds United midfielder missed Poland’s clash with Italy.

Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich was a notable absentee from Poland’s international clash with Italy last night.
Klich was ineligible for the fixture, after picking up a yellow card against Portugal days earlier.
This was his second of the UEFA Nations League, incurring an automatic one game suspension.
Klich was disappointed to learn he wouldn’t be facing Italy, telling Poland’s TVP Sport: “I did not even know about it. It’s a pity.”
Poland lost last night’s gamer 1-0 to a last minute winner.

Disappointment for Klich is to Leeds’ benefit
Not only did Klich avoid the risk of injury against Italy, he will return to Leeds more rested.
Instead of having six days ‘rest’ between last night’s game and the match against Blackburn Rovers, Klich will have had nine days between matches.
Instead of getting back a potentially tired player who has played twice, Klich has only had one game in which to exert himself.
The Pole has been such a key player for Leeds this season and they need him at his best when their Championship season resumes this coming weekend.
