Leeds United are set to take on Ipswich Town on Saturday, as they look to extend their positive start to their Championship season.
Klich played a starring role for Leeds against Burnley in the Carabao Cup in midweek, as Thomas Christiansen’s side picked up a victory over their Premier League opponents.
However, the central-midfielder is under no illusions about how tough it will be to keep his place in Leeds’ starting line-up.
And Klich expects to drop back down to the substitutes’ bench, with Kalvin Phillips and Eunan O’Kane likely to start against Ipswich.
He said: “Probably we (the players who started at Turf Moor) won’t play on Saturday but I hope everyone who does manages to do good and do their jobs, and that we’re going to win as we lost the last game. Now we have to focus on the league.”
Klich’s performance against Burnley was his most impressive in a Leeds shirt to date, following his arrival at Elland Road in the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old was composed in possession, and showed excellent battling qualities – as Leeds pulled off a cup upset.
The Whites have also been in strong form in the Championship this term, and currently lead the way in the second tier.
If Leeds are able to win against Ipswich, they could extend their advantage at the top of the Championship table to three points.
