The Leeds United player joined the club this past Friday.
Leeds United new boy Mateusz Klich has told The Yorkshire Evening Post that he is relishing the chance of playing with Chris Wood next season.
The 27-year-old was Leeds’ first signing under new head coach Thomas Christiansen after joining from FC Twente on Friday.
He has previously described himself as a creative midfielder and the Poland international can’t wait to link up with the Whites striker, who scored 30 goals for the Elland Road club last season – 27 of which were in the Championship.
He told The Yorkshire Evening Post: “I am really looking forward to playing with a striker who can score 30 goals. That means you can get assists as well. I can’t wait to play for the team.”
Leeds fans will be hoping to see the pair play together next season, but Wood has been linked with a £15 million move (via The Sun) away from the Yorkshire club, with Premier League new boys Huddersfield reportedly keen.
The New Zealand marksman was in stunning form under Garry Monk last season and another goal-laden campaign would undoubtedly be a huge boost for United’s promotion bid.
They finished seventh in the Championship last time out, five points behind sixth-placed Fulham, and it remains to be seen if Christiansen can help them go one better in 2018.
