Leeds United missed out on reaching the Championship play-off final in the most incredible fashion.

Mateusz Klich and Jack Clarke have sent emotional messages to Leeds United supporters on Twitter, admitting that their play-off semi-final defeat has caused indescribable pain but insisting that the Whites will not be giving up.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have missed out on securing a spot in the play-off final in the most remarkable circumstances. Leading 1-0 from the first-leg, Leeds were beaten 4-2 at Elland Road by Derby County, with the decisive goal coming in the final few minutes.
The Whites had gone 2-0 up on aggregate thanks to Stuart Dallas. But some calamitous defending allowed Derby to score the next three goals and go ahead in the tie for the first time shortly before the hour mark.
Dallas levelled things up again however, as the Northern Irishman produced an outstanding finish. But Leeds had one more moment of madness up their sleeve as Gaetano Berardi was sent off late on, and Derby would find the winner shortly after to spark incredible scenes in the away end.

It was another sickener for a Leeds side that went into the final couple of months of the season in the driving seat to secure automatic-promotion before opening the door for Sheffield United.
It remains to be seen which key figures at Elland Road decide to stick around for next season when the Whites will look to succeed where they fell short this time around. And it appears that both Klich and Clarke are planning to stay and address the unfinished business of this year judging by their respective messages to the fans.

Here is what both Klich and Clarke posted on social media…
