Mateusz Bogusz is set to swap Premier League outfit Leeds United for a fresh start in the MLS with his loan spell at UD Ibiza coming to a premature end, coach Carlos Alcaraz confirms.
Three years after making his one and only first-team appearance for Leeds, Bogusz’s debut coming under Marcelo Bielsa during the end of the club’s Championship era, the Poland U21 international is finally set for a clean break.
Bogusz has spent the last three seasons out on loan.

A permanent departure from Elland Road is now close, however; Los Angeles FC edging nearer and nearer to a deal during the final four weeks of the Major League Soccer transfer window (Cadena Cope).
As such, Bogusz will bring forward his departure from UD Ibiza by a couple of months. He leaves the Segunda outfit second from bottom and staring relegation in the face.
Leeds United will let Mateusz Bogusz leave for MLS champions Los Angeles
“The clubs (Leeds and LAFC) are closing an agreement,” Alcaraz tells Diario de Ibiza. “The player has asked to leave. And we understand that his mind his not here with us.
“Regardless of the quality of each player, we need people with their heads here. (Bogusz made the decision to leave) this Monday or Tuesday.”
It remains to be seen how much LAFC will pay for Bogusz. The 21-year-old’s Leeds contract expires in July. Therefore, if he does not leave West Yorkshire for free, he is likely to depart for a nominal sum.
Leeds reportedly wanted to include a £7 million buyback clause in Bogusz contract when clubs expressed an interest back in 2021. But his development has plateaued since then. Bogusz scored just two goals and assisted none across 22 games in the Spanish second tier this season.
The former Ruch Chorzow starlet supposedly bid farewell to his UD Ibiza team-mates earlier this week. He did not take part in training on Thursday either.
LAFC, meanwhile, won the American top-flight last season, with Bogusz on his way to the reigning champions.
