Bukayo Saka has apologised to Arsenal fans and claimed on Twitter that they deserve better.
The Gunners were held to a 1-1 draw with Southampton at the Emirates Stadium last night as Mikel Arteta’s side remain 15th in the Premier League table.
Arsenal fought back from a goal down to level up when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang equalised in the second half, before Gabriel Magalhaes got himself sent off for a foul on Theo Walcott, who opened the scoring against his former side in the first half.
The North Londoners went into the game on the back of four successive Premier League defeats at the Emirates, so coming away with a point under the circumstances could be considered a positive.
It’s been a trying season for Arsenal fans and Saka – who was one of his side’s better players again last night – has apologised on Twitter for the performance.
But some Gunners fans were quick to point out that he has nothing to apologise for.
