Some Barcelona fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation that the club do not plan to sign Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.
According to Sport, Barcelona have cooled their interest in Wijnaldum due to the rise of Ilaix Moriba.
The report in the Spanish publication has claimed that Barca manager Ronald Koeman wanted to sign the Netherlands international midfielder in the summer of 2020.
However, no move materialised, and although the former Spanish and European giants maintained their interest in the 30-year-old, the development and progress of Moriba has seen Barca cool their interest in him, according to the report.
The report has described Wijnaldum as ‘physically very powerful and balanced thanks to his long run in the center of the field’, and has claimed that Barcelona have practically ruled out signing him even on a free transfer.
Wijnaldum has been on the books of Liverpool since 2016 and is out of contact at the defending Premier League champions at the end of the season.
Central midfielder Moriba, 18, has made one start and two substitute appearances in La Liga and has played 11 minutes in the Champions League for Barca so far this season, according to WhoScored.
