Stephen Warnock has claimed that Raphinha is ‘massively low on confidence’ at Leeds United, as he told the Football Show on Sky Sports.

The former defender added that Raphinha was Leeds’ ‘go-to man’, but his form has been shot to pieces of late.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have suffered injury after injury this season, but one man that has remained firm is their left-footed flyer on the wings.

The 25-year-old has scored a remarkable nine Premier League this season, despite Leeds’ squad being without the likes of Patrick Bamford, Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper for long periods.

Even though Raphinha came off the bench to score during his side’s defeat against Manchester United at the weekend, Warnock still feels his confidence is low.

“Raphinha looks massively low on confidence,” said Warnock.

“He looks shot, at the moment where he has got no confidence in what he is doing and he was their go-to man.

“So, they are in trouble, definitely.”

Many were left surprised when Raphinha was benched for the Man United tie and he surely has to return to the XI against Liverpool.

After Manchester City’s defeat to Tottenham, those on Merseyside will be smelling blood and this free-scoring Liverpool side will be looking to make a statement at Anfield tonight.

All of that doesn’t bode well for the Yorkshire club because they have already been conceding for fun.

That’s where someone like Raphinha comes into play because, with Liverpool’s fullbacks bombing forward, their Brazilian star might just get some joy on the flanks and possibly provide some hope for his side.
