Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club revealed that Callum Wilson would miss the final three games of the season.

The £20 million man suffered an injury to his hamstring during the 4-2 win over Leicester on Friday, which has ended his campaign prematurely.

Thankfully for Newcastle, they’ve already secured Premier League survival.

If Steve Bruce’s side had to go into these final three games without Wilson in need of points, there would be jitters all over Tyneside.

Wilson has scored 12 of Newcastle’s 40 Premier League goals this season.

Without him, they would surely have suffered relegation to the Championship.

Wilson’s injury doesn’t have much impact on the remainder of the season, with Newcastle now safe.

However, it is still concerning to see him pick up so many injuries.

Another supporter felt the training under Bruce might be causing Wilson’s injuries.

When fit, the England international is one of the best forwards in the Premier League, in our view.

However, the £46,154-a-week man clearly cannot be relied on from a fitness perspective.

Another option is needed, as Joelinton and Andy Carroll aren’t good enough.

Let’s see how the Newcastle fans on Twitter reacted to the club’s announcement
