Bolton fans have taken to Twitter to celebrate after they announced the signing of Oladapo Afolayan on loan from West Ham yesterday.

The Trotters wrapped up a temporary deal for the 23-year-old on Deadline Day, in news that has delighted the League Two side’s fanbase.

The Hammers academy graduate recently made his first-team debut for the Irons, scoring in a 4-0 win over Doncaster in the FA Cup.

However, David Moyes has decided to ship him away from the London Stadium so he can gain more first-team experience, rather than waste away in east London.

Aside from his one and only first-team outing this term, Afolayan has scored a respectable five goals in 11 Premier League 2 appearances.

In total, his career so far – across any age ranking – has seen him bag 25 goals in exactly 100 games, while also registering eight assists.

On average, he nets a goal every four games, which isn’t too bad at all.

No wonder the Bolton fans are excited to have him at their club.

Hopefully, the London-born striker can help guide Ian Evatt’s men away from the drop zone.

Bolton are currently ten points clear of the relegation zone, although there is still plenty of work to be done to ensure the club do not exit the Football League.

Let’s see what the Bolton fans on Twitter have been saying about Afolayan…
