Harry Redknapp has told talkSPORT that Declan Rice can help West Ham United win their first major trophy since 1980 within the next year, as he is ‘massive’ under David Moyes.
The Irons are enjoying a golden age with Moyes’ men challenging across the Carabao Cup, Europa League and Premier League. They also enter the FA Cup against Leeds United on January 9, who they have not lost to since 2005 – winning each of their last three meetings.
West Ham can put themselves within touching distance of the EFL Cup final on Wednesday night, as well. The Hammers visit London rivals Tottenham Hotspur for a place in the semi-finals. They are also looking to go three-straight wins over Spurs across all competitions.

The London Stadium natives have not reached the EFL Cup semi-final stage since losing at the penultimate hurdle in 2013/14. They have also not progressed past the quarter-final of the FA Cup since finishing as runners-up to Liverpool in 2006.
Redknapp tips West Ham for trophy challenge within 12-months
Moyes has already achieved one first as West Ham manager after leading the Irons into the Europa League group stage. He will look to keep the results flowing in the last 16 next year.
Redknapp also believes 2022 could be a big year for West Ham, with Rice instrumental to a major trophy challenge. A feat the Hammers last realised 41-years ago with a third FA Cup.
“He’s very much a massive part of the team at West Ham,” Redknapp said. “So, I think he’s in a great place at West Ham, and I’d like to see him stay there long-term.

“He’s in the England team. So, it’s not holding him back at all, and West Ham look like a team who are on the up. They could be challenging for trophies in the next year.
“So, hopefully for West Ham’s sake, he stays another few years there.”
When is the Carabao Cup semi-final draw?
The Carabao Cup can represent West Ham’s first chance at silverware in 2022 if Moyes and 22-year-old Rice beat Tottenham. They will then face one of Arsenal, Liverpool or Leicester or Brentford or Chelsea for a place in the final.
The draw for the EFL Cup semi-finals takes place on Sky Sports following the Irons’ clash with Spurs. It will begin at around 21:40 GMT, unless the Hammers’ tie goes to extra-time.
