It was a pretty mixed first season for Thomas Partey at Arsenal, it has to be said.
Partey joined the Gunners for £45 million from Atletico Madrid last October.
But three separate injuries made it difficult to find some consistency at Arsenal and for much of 2021, he struggled with his form.
But the 28-year-old midfielder did show glimpses of his quality in a number of games – including the win at Manchester United in November – and Kieran Tierney has suggested via the club’s official Twitter account that there’s much more to come from the Ghanaian next season and beyond.
Inconsistent
Next season is massive for Partey at Arsenal.
There’s no denying that he’s been unlucky with injuries but remember, he is one of the club’s most expensive signings of all time – and he earns £200,000 per week in North London.
The injuries aren’t really his fault but, even when he has been fit, Partey has been a tad underwhelming but it’s so important that he starts producing when available.
But Tierney is right in saying that this is a player who could be enormous for the club.
The ability is there and so is the attitude, but he’s going to need to start doing it every single week.
